Con Book Submission Information
All Fur Fun will be giving out a con book to every 2009 registrant as they arrive, full of helpful information such as descriptions of panels and events, hotel information, a list of nearby places to get food, etc. This year's book will be a unique half-legal size (7in × 8.5in) booklet printed in black-and-white with a full-colour cover.
However, to make it super awesome, we need your help; we need submissions of art and short stories to go in the book! Information about what we're looking for in submissions, as well as deadline and where to send it is all below.
Theme and Content:
All Fur Fun 2009's theme is Ancient Greece! Any artwork or stories that are furry in nature are welcome, but we strongly encourage playing to the theme. However, we must ask that you keep things light-hearted and clean. No artwork or stories with adult or questionable content will be printed. In other words, if your grandmother wouldn't like it, don't send it to us! (You know what we mean.)
Also, if you're so inclined (or stuck for a subject idea), we do have mascots that we'd love for you to draw and write about! Riggins is a male raccoon, and Fern is a female red fox. Beyond that there are no real specifics on either character, so feel free to draw them or write about them as you see fit!
Remember that the book will be printed in black-and-white, so inked images are fine, as well as clean sketches. Full colour works will be accepted so long as the greyscale version still looks recognizable.
Deadline for Submissions:
The deadline for submissions to the con book is To Be Determined. (This date may be extended, but that's the deadline for now.) Submissions later than this date will not be accepted, sorry!
Where to Send Submissions:
Please send your con book submissions or questions about such to affconbook@allfurfun.com from an e-mail address at which we can reach you. When submitting, please remember to clearly denote the name you wish printed as the credit for the piece.
How to Format Submissions:
- Artwork: When sending artwork, please make sure it's suitable for printing. Vector artwork is optimal but not required. (.ai is best; .pdf, .cdr, and all other formats will be converted.) For raster artwork, 400dpi (a size of 2400×3000 pixels) or higher should do fine as that allows for resizing as needed. Lossless formats are preferred (.png is best; .gif and .tif are excellent; .jpg will be grudgingly accepted but should be very high quality. In any case, make them greyscale, no dithering!)
- Text: Prose should be under 2000 words. Nearly any text format will be accepted; simple text markup formats like HTML or BBcode are optimal, but anything which can be opened in OpenOffice.org or reasonably converted will do just fine. (This means .odt, .doc, .rtf, .txt, and the like; if you're not sure, save a copy as .rtf and send that.)
Ownership:
All Fur Fun does not claim ownership of any works you send us - you will retain ownership and copyright to your own works. By submitting your artwork and stories to us, you agree to allow All Fur Fun to print your work in the con book or in other at-con publications (including online archival of those publications). Your artwork will not be sold or used in any other way without your express permission.
Also, keep in mind that we may not print everything that is submitted to us. The selection of submissions is up to the staff, and staff decisions on printing are final.
